I have this idea, as a protest against an unsympathetic cold - TopicsExpress

I have this idea, as a protest against an unsympathetic cold world, like performance art, maybe a way to move the set-point of our society farther to accommodate deep feelings in every-day existence, we could all walk around grieving, crying openly. It would be a public act some people might choose. Sobbing openly for all the ones who cant cry anymore- either because they have taken their own lives or that they have so adapted to the world that they live in a superficial facebook/ appearances-only existence in public. The counterpoint, the cure of which would be the truly brave ones, crying the tears of those who can not cry. A demonstration that if it were wide-spread enough could begin to change the world - accepting the deep and real into public everyday life- creating a haven for the Robin Williams, the Philip Seymour Hoffmans the David Foster Wallaces, the Spalding Grays and at the same time improving the quality of life for everyone. We dont discount the sensitivity of canaries in coal mines, we count on them to signal what is horribly wrong.
