I have to admit Im a Producer, have shot around the globe and one - TopicsExpress

I have to admit Im a Producer, have shot around the globe and one of my first concerns was always for the safety of the cast and crew on a show. I also did work for insurance/bond companies so I took a look at projects with risk management at all times. There have been a few accidents (no deaths) on shows I worked on but if there was anyone at fault or if there was a show where I felt procedures were not followed I fired people! Ive fired directors, A.D.s, stunt people, effects people, etc. This is a business but there is no reason for the senseless death and other injuries that have happened on that movie all of which could have been prevented especially in the age of green screen effects. I have read up on the company and their bold statements of guerrilla styled filmmaking which I find alarming that anyone would let them continue. The idea that they are shooting with the same director and producers while the film is still under investigation sickens me. If it was any other type of business and someone died while that person or group of persons were in charge, would local government and law enforcement allow them to continue while the incident is under investigation? I think not. I really hope my friends in Los Angeles dont sign up and work on this show and I know it is really hard for my friends to turn down work here. It seems the producer/director has utilized film students to work on his previous shows and I fear they may try to do this here and get people involved that dont know what happened along with the history of their company doing such dangerous things without oversight. It would be great if someone could recruit a publicist to get the word out so this is on the local news and on rotation and maybe even post fliers at local film schools. Shows are insured for this sort of thing and what I hope is the director, producers and his production team are replaced with more safety conscious people if this movie is to be contractually completed!
