I have to admit it was tough getting to sleep last night. So many images and people running through my mind. Stories I was working on that will never be heard including an in depth look at Sports Related Head injuries. Thanks though to those who allowed me to pick their brains about the subject Jason Minatrea Ron MinatreaWes Speights and Cody Roberts( Craig Roberts son). The folks at TIRR are presenting a symposium/lecture on the topic tomorrow at 1 at the medical center with a very well spoke Dr., David Hovda from UCLA. While trying to slow down all the swirling thoughts, which included excitement about opportunities for me to grow my Voice Over business, These thoughts kept circling back to me. I really enjoyed working at News92FM. That job was a true gift from God that came along at a time when I really needed a boost in self confidence. It gave me that boost and then some. So I am nothing but grateful for the opportunity. I often posted things on Facebook about how I loved getting to interview and meet some really cool and often famous people, most recently during a phone interview with actor Rob Lowe. But while that part was cool, the job allowed me to get to know some real heroes, in particular those men and women of the Houston Fire Department. People like Craig Moreau who can put out a fire on the side of the road using only cans of beer.... and then come back home and put together a plan to get emergency treatment for a stroke patient on the side of Highway 59 in a gas station parking lot. He and countless others are my new heroes. I was able to meet people like Robert Yarbrough, one of the firefighters who was hurt but lives to tell about the Southwest Inn fire. Not to mention Jacki Dowling, whose husband Capt. Bill Dowling (IronBill) faces a long long road of recovery. Her faith is inspiring. Andrew Moore thank you for introducing me to the world of HFD from a new point of view. I could ramble on, but I will stop for now. Somehow writing this all down will help get it out of my head so I can move forward. Out of my head, but not out of my thoughts. Kevin Charles Minatrea
