I have to apologize to whomever asked about a romantic spot for their Honeymoon dinner last week...I answered The Peddler or Park Grill. That was based on past experience. We just ate at the Park Grill for the first time in 5 years and were horrified at the changes. It is no longer a pleasant, elegant, quiet restaurant. The ambiance is no longer understated and classy. We found most of the decorations that were so unique are gone, the servers have changed from reserved ranger attire to overalls, the small gift shop is gone, the menu has changed, and the music! Oh, my, the music was so obnoxiously loud that we couldnt have a conversation between ourselves. The piano player is a thing of the past. I enjoy bluegrass, but do not want to feel that I am at a concert when I am dining. Moonshine has taken over Gatlinburg, and unfortunately, one of our favorite restaurants. We agreed that we could have excused most of this, IF the food had still been the same. But the steak that was always melt in your mouth amazing was barely chewable. We left feeling sad. I cant speak for the Peddler, I can only hope it hasnt changed as well. We didnt have time to visit it during this trip.
