I have to ask some alternative rockers some questions. So instead of sleeping, Im up watching a VH1 documentary on Grunge music. I know grunge is kind of an out-dated genre, but please humor me anyway. When you think of grunge, what do you think of? What bands? What life style? What sound? What defines grunge for you? Its one of my favorite styles of music, but its so hit-and-miss with me. I like Black Hole Sun and Spoonman, but other than those two songs, I dont really like Soundgarden. I like Nirvanas more mainstream songs, but their other stuff just sucks. I used to hate Alice In Chains, but I just listened their song Would? and I kinda dig it. Also, Im not enjoying Mudhoney at all, and theyre a hugely famous grunge band. Why can a single sub genre be so hit-and-miss? It doesnt make sense to me. Musicians, please explain and give opinions.
