I have to be less PC with China, now that they have signed this new Debt Agreement (By the way what will happen to the National Reserves where the new rail will be traversing? ) Folks, for a while i have been very PC with how far we can condemn China/the Chinese for the gross plunder of our wildlife in Africa and elsewhere. Recently i watched a very disturbing documentary about how Beijing is indifferent regarding the poaching disaster. I am not anti-communist ideology per se, its utopia at best, including in these circumstances .The communist interest groups within the power hierarchy must not be part of anything that would rock the boat. So while some Chinese may want to be part of the bigger solution, the dreaded notion of a protest, sanction, direct action by Chinese conservationists (i have read that they are many) could be interpreted as attempting to do a Tienanmen. So because long bad habits die hard, the communist vanguard fear that the talk of anti poaching within the Chinese ruling class and the third sector etc can rock the boat. The communist boat , no they are not communist anymore, must stay afloat and that is why we are all shouting from our empty vessels, they are laughing at us. It is a political rather than simple Chinese society problem. The $10million China is donating for wildlife conservation is not exactly a reparation, considering the thousands of wildlife murdered and their trophies sent abroad in the last century. I think its a small gesture, a drop in the ocean. Here, some of us have been talking about historical injustices on wildlife which should be followed by immediate or proactive reparations. The Kenyan perpetrators within the poaching industry, Wambui, Mama Ngina etc need to make bold steps. Kenyans will not lynch them. In fact Kenyans will recommend them for the Nobel which is often given to former belligerents who re-brand themselves like some of the Middle East folk. It was given to Obama even with his Drone massacres. Lets be honest, Wambui, Mama Ngina and others need to do a token just like the Chinese have done with their $10 million loose change.
