I have to comment on all the hay being made about a movie that just came out recently called God’s Not Dead. Mind you, I haven’t seen the movie yet, so I’m not commenting about the movie, just about the reactions I’ve been reading about the movie. First, I read that it was heavily panned by the critics, who claim that it was horribly produced and executed. Second, I read that these people are shocked that it made 15 million it’s first weekend, calling it a ‘surprise.’ When I Googled the movie, the blog of a very angry and strident critic of the film came out on top, which blasts that it is totally untrue that a Philosophy professor ever demanded that students declare ‘God is Dead,’ and that to suggest that it is true is, in his words, a ‘fraud.’ Now this is my question. I just watched “Fargo” last night, which got multiple academy awards, and which claims at the outset to be absolutely true. Only problem is, it isn’t. In fact, almost NOTHING about the story is true. So why would people now suddenly expect anything different from a film called “God’s Not Dead?
