I have to do my homework better, this trip to the subcontinent - TopicsExpress

I have to do my homework better, this trip to the subcontinent made me research more about the history of the space and the people, both from the Mughals to Modi and I have discovered that I had false information because I hadnt really researched it well. for example : 1- I always thought that Mohandas Ghandi ( Mahatma Ghandi) was related to Sonia Ghandi and her family which turns out that it is not the case at all ( I thought it was a hereditary thingy passed thru him which is thru for the Nehru-Ghandi family). 2- Mhatma Ghandi was NEVER for the partition of the subcontinent into two states ( The Land of the Hindus and the Land of The Muslims) which later became 3, he was actually against it and believed in the Unity of Indian peoples. 3-He had very good relations with Muslims both on a political and a human perspective and this is what strenghtend his position as a unifier and supported the Quit Britain 4- Mahatma Ghandi was assassinated by Cold Bold by a Hindu radical who believed Mahatma did not follow the scriptures and was taking the country to its destruction 5-Indira Ghandi ( not related to Mahatma Ghandi) her surname the Iron Woman was one of the strongest figures in Indian and female political history was assassinated by Sikh during the Sikh Conflicts and the uprisings of Armistar 6-Sonia Ghandi ( the step-daughter of Indira Ghandi) is one of the most influential persons in India and is the Chair of the National congress despite her lack of interests in Politics at the beginning. 7-Most people I have met ( rich, poor, educated, villas, slums, taxis) are very positive about Modi and believe he will take India forward and transofrm its economy to be more resilient with the vision A Bank account for every indian 8-Most muslims are away from global indian politics and their state is very miserable ( less educated, less opportunities) and also the widespread of mis-understanding of various religious practices makes it quite unique aka Women are denied access to mosques and also some muslim families have adopted a similar cast-system. 9-The mughals were more politicians than religious people with extreme differences from Akbar who Created a whole new religion to accomodate various religions of the subcontinent to Aurangzeb the son of the builder of Taj Mahal who was considered as a religious and pious man who killed his siblings and emprisoned his father to rule and conducted a policy of forced conversion and destruction of Hindu Temples. 10- one of the examples of political decisions done by Aurangzeb was beheading the 9th Guru of the Sikhs who protected Hindus from forced conversion and thus made him a martyr in front of the whole population. #Learnings_from_mother_india #Incredible_India
