I have to post about this girl. People get annoyed with the whole adopt dont shop bit but I dont care. Those people dont go see animals in shelters. Those people have blinders on and dont want to realize all the problems that go on. People say they want a pure bred and not a mutt. People dont realize how many pure bred dogs are dying everyday because their owner got a cute puppy then realized it was too much. I see Great Danes, Boston terriers, American Bullies (which lets be real. Thats really a mutt, do some research and find out what breeds were put together to get that dog. And theyre beautiful dogs but no better than the next), labs, German Shepherds (one rescue in Cali just had 10 purebred pups. Mom and dad were dropped at AC because they no longer wanted them), Bull Terriers and any other breed you can think of. Ill never see the reasoning in bringing more into this world for your profit, while others die. Ya know, every time that sad commercial about neglected dogs comes on and you change the channel that doesnt make the problem go away. Im not saying everyone has to go get another dog but spay and neuter your current pets. When you see people sharing pictures dont get pissy, you dont realize how many dogs escape death row by those shares. Foster a dog. Go spend time with shelter animals. This girls name is now Maeby. Yesterday morning someone posted on Instagram that she needed a home by this morning or was going to MDAS (Miami Dade Animal Shelter). There is a ban on any bully breed in that area and considering she would have been an owner surrender and shes part pit, instant death. Anyways, I contacted a friend that lives down there and she didnt hesitate to step up and help. It was an all day process. We finally found out she was a Craigslist puppy (NEVER a good thing). The lady strung us along all day then finally gave me her address last night so my friend could go and get her. When my friend got there (no she didnt go alone, 3 ppl went) they found out Maeby was picked up off the side of the road a cpl wks ago. She was in a box with 5 other puppies. They left the others to die because they looked almost dead. In 2 wks they never de wormed her, never vaccinated her, never took her to a vet. Shes petrified of people, full of worms. The lady stated she only picked her up so she could sell her (she sure didnt get a penny for the dog). The lady also had other dogs that are sick, have heart worms and none of them are on meds. Heart worms are very treatable but if left untreated the dog dies slowly while suffering. Now, Im sorry but no dog is any more important than this dog just because it may have papers. If you think its fun to breed for profit, why dont YOU have a cpl dozen kids and see how you feel afterwards? Theres a lot of reasons why Id much rather be around dogs than people. There are precious puppies like this all over the country. If you are looking for a pet go save ones life! It takes a pretty heartless person to disregard the life of an innocent animal.
