I have to say I am severely disappointed in Microsoft. We purchased a new ASUS AMD computer at Best Buy and I wanted to put Microsoft Office on it so I made the mistake of purchasing the card at Best Buy. Maybe you will have better luck than I did. If you can, go online and order the disk. you can still get disk though they dont advertise that at all. Walmart and Best Buy no longer offer the disks to buy but a activation card. HA! First you have to go online, find the website and then bring up the screen.......insert the 10 mile long, ant sized activation code only to hear it say......we have a problem and it is not compatible. ok. So we go to the Microsoft website, pull up trouble shooting and there are HUNDREDS of complaints about the activation cards NOT loading. We get this number and call it.....INDIA......oh great. When she opens her mouth, I KNEW we had real problems. I understand bad English, Southern English and some forms of New Yorker but I do not understand Indian English. Its very pretty but after the third time she told me to type treesh on my computer....Phil and I suddenly realized she was saying THREE. Between his hard of hearing from mortor shells and mine from ambulance sirens and the subtle ooooh la ooh la treesh, FOUR, tressh, we managed to blunder through to the next technician. It seems that in order to PUT Office on your computer you have to have it scanned for problems. if they find malware, spyware, viruses, Trojans or any other name for a problem on a computer it WONT GO ON THERE! So they have to remove it..........well, it cost 199.00 for that to happen plus they will input for that amount all forms of antivirus, spyware and malware programs, give you 24-7 free software help and give you your very own 365 day technician that can remotely access your computer from a calling card placed on your desktop for that. DID you know that the version of MacAfee that is put on your computer PRIOR to sale is NOT a full version and though it says it is protecting your computer and youve activated it........water would be a better protector?????? I did not know this. I thought i would just use that till i could put something better on there. Ive had my computer a week. Ive been to facebook, i do email and i dont open ones i dont know and i downloaded ONE game........FIVE hours later......yes FIVE hours, three viruses, a few spyware, some malware later......with two NEW nice Indian lads and one new Zealand woman whose English was MUCH better between all four of us, we got the Microsoft Office up and working AND I am now bug free. What happened to insert the disc and follow the command prompts. geeeeeeeezzzzzzzzzzz!
