I have to say that after reading one more comment by a famous scientist about how Creationists are hindering, or want to hinder, scientific research, I am extremely disappointed that someone as intelligent as Neil deGrasse Tyson would fall for the same old poppycock. Science and spiritualism are not enemies. I have been studying evolution/creation in depth for years and my paradigm has not changed, just as Im sure the average evolutionists paradigm would not. Its all about your perspective. All of the data from geology, biology, astronomy, physics, chemistry and all the other scientific disciplines can be interpreted either as supporting evolution/big bang, or creation. If ones faith is real, one can trust that as more data is collected and evaluated, that data will support belief in a divine creation, not undermine it. There is no physical evidence yet found that disproves anything written in the bible. That being said, there are many things in the biblical narrative that have yet to be found or proven. However, Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. In other words, because present day research has yet to confirm some of the historical statements of the Bible, this does not mean they are not true. Discoveries are made all the time which actually confirm biblical data. I will let you do your own research if you are interested, but the Bible does not say the earth is flat. And it is a myth that people in the middle ages(Christian or otherwise) believed this. Columbus had no fear of sailing off the edge of the world . But thats a whole other post. If any of you has a question/challenge, or would like to dialog about any of this, message me. Or we can do it publicly if youd rather.
