I have to share. Yesterday I heard an amazing sermon by Pastor Andy McDonald at Florida Hospital Church about meditation in God (see the replay at hospitalchurch.org). Today I felt the urge to try it out. Those that know me know that my mind can wonder at a million miles per second and I am easily distracted. I tend to always be the one talking to God and rarely just listen and let Him speak to me. Its my downfall. But today I tried something different and just read a verse and listened. The verse was Matthew 11: 28-30. I specifically concentrated on verse 29 because I had just told God to teach me to listen to Him. In His grace, He answered my prayer and spoke to me. I saw images of His greatness & Divine Creation flow through my head and Isaiah 40:28-31 came to my mind...word by word. I cant explain it other than I didnt want it to end. Everything lasted about 30 minutes, but it really only felt like 1 minute to me. All I know is that I ended up in tears and with a very humbled heart knowing that of everything God could be doing at that very hour, He was there with me and answered my meager prayer. Science may say otherwise, religions may contradict themselves, people may think we are crazy or daydreamers...but I dont care...all I know is that my God is not dead and I will serve Him forever. I just had to share.
