I have to share this BEAUTIFUL, true story as told by my dear friend Susan Paulette DePhillip about her daughter Katelyn. Yesterday evening I joined a couple friends to play Christmas music at the Live Nativity at their church in Lakeside. Katelyn was the only one who went with me and she participated as a shepherd for one of the shifts. We were playing music in the church parlor, just inside the door from the nativity and people were coming in to have refreshments and fellowship. At one point Katelyn asked if she could sing a song, If I Knew Then What I Know Now (from the musical the children are performing Christmas Eve)...shortly after she started the room became silent and everyone was listening to her. She did the whole song, complete with the storyteller monologue. It was amazing and so perfect! Everyone was touched. I got really teary eyed and on the way home I told her that I was so proud of her for getting up to sing and share the message like that, all by herself. She kind of giggled and said, It wasnt just me, Mom. It was me AND God.
