I have to share this awful experience from yesterday. My sister and I were walking through Huntingdon town, as we walked by the pie shop in chequers court I took a picture of the pies in the window display ( I grew up on the Oxmoor but now live in Washington, D.C. And I thought my kiddies would love to see a classic English pic of a pie shop) The owner/manager, woman in her 50s with short blond hair, runs out and starts shouting at me demanding I give her my phone. She got herself into a right state shouting at me and being very verbally abusive. After I got over the initial shock of being screamed at by this mad woman I explained I only took one picture of her very public store front to show my children, she called the police ! Eventually one of the town rangers (??) came and spoke to me and also agreed the pie shop lady was acting irrational and to just walk away as I had done no wrong. What a sad and unnecessary way to end my 10 days visiting my home town :(
