I have to share this letter that Chris Biggar wrote to the Seattle - TopicsExpress

I have to share this letter that Chris Biggar wrote to the Seattle Seahawks about me. I did not know she did this until last week and I would not have believed it if she wouldnt have told me. I did not know there was a Pete Carroll Make Difference Program I am feeling pretty happy that I even know who Pete Carroll is. At this time, I dont know any details except that I won two tickets to the November 9th game against the Giants. I dont know if I get to meet people, (I wouldnt know any of the Seahawks if they were standing in my living room) And I kind of forgot all about the Junior High uniforms we did a few years back. But Chris won me a big fat award. THANK YOU CHRIS!!!! Whose autograph do you want me to get for you ?:) Tell us how your nominee is going above and beyond to make a positive impact in the lives of those around him or her. (250 word maximum) * Kimberly has been a “mover and a shaker” in our small community for several years, painting store fronts that needed to be spruced up, fund raising for new sports uniforms for our Junior High teams, and becoming a community member on the committee to bring “A Leader In Me” to our school district. She is active in the Waterville Shocker Booster club, on the Levy committee for Waterville Schools and involved in fund raising so a skate park can be built in our town. To show the size of her heart, last fall a young lady who grew up in Waterville needed a heart transplant and she organized a Christmas bazaar/dance to raise money to help pay her expenses. This last summer Kimberly showed her true “community spirit” when the Carlton Complex Fire hit the nearby community of Pateros destroying several homes. In the first few days she and her friends Wendy Osborne and Kim Katovich gathered and delivered several truckloads of supplies to help the victims of this devastation. But that didn’t seem to be enough so she decided perhaps she could coordinate the efforts to provide a travel trailer for a family displaced by the fire. She not only solicited donations of funds to help purchase the trailer, but through the use of social networking, the trailer was quickly filled with bedding, clothing, food, and allkitchen supplies. To read her posts of the emotions shown when she surprised the recipient at his job with his new temporary home (he had been sleeping in a park) complete with the title to the vehicle was amazing. Having a home meant he could bring his daughter back home from staying with relatives. While this alone seems like a great story, Kim didn’t stop there. It all came together so easily she decided, why couldn’t they do another one? And then another one and the story continued. She has hunted down trailers from all over the state and into Idaho. Through monetary donations she has received in the mail and handed to her on the street she has been able to purchase these homes for people heading into winter without roofs over their heads. To date Kim has put together trailer purchases/donations for eleven families! And they are always completely filled with specific supplies needed by the family. This is in addition to being a wife, mom and self-employed woman whose brilliant work is all around our town and surrounding towns. Kimberly is someone who is truly going above and beyond to make this world a better place.
