I have to share this story with all of you guys!!! I have spent close to two years trying to locate a singer that I have recorded over the years named Pep Brown, who wrote some fantastic songs with a very different style and very unique!!! Yesterday I found a phone number for his former bass player and writing partner. When I called the number I was surprised it was still a working number. The voice on the other end of the line said she knew who I was, but that he had died 14 years ago. After expressing my condolences, I asked if she knew anything about the whereabouts of Pep........only to be told Pep had died 3 years ago...... My heart hurt so much and I told her I was afraid of that since I had not heard from him in quite some time... I cried and cried and shared the news with Tosha.........Then I began sending out emails to all of those that I knew that had worked with us and those who knew I had been searching for him......Replies were coming in and I had told Tosha that I wanted to go to Milledgeville today to put flowers on my Friends grave...... Then I received an email from my son in law, Jamie who knew I had been looking and when I opened it, it read, I dont know how much truth it is about this, but I was going to surprise you....It had two phone numbers in it...... I thought I should call and try to reach Peps son.......Nervously, I dialed the number and a lady answered......... I am trying to reach the Family of Pep Brown to which she replied, This is the family of Pep Brown!!! I went on to say how sorry I was to hear the news and how I had been trying to locate him..... Her next reply blew me away!!! Pep is not dead......He had a stroke 3 years ago but he is still alive!!!! Do you want to speak to him? Great God Almighty!!!! I cried and cried all over again, only this time TEARS OF JOY!!!! I told Pep if he could return from the dead, then surely he could write a hit song........ He and I plan to get together soon and go fishing......and who knows, maybe even write a song or two....... THANK YOU LORD!!!! Alan Walden
