I have to share this with all the nurses and caregivers out there.........Several weeks ago Keiths surgeon, Dr. Stewart had a rep come in to demonstrate a new wound care product. I will try to get the name of it, when we return to his office on Friday. Anyway, it resembles a Tegaderm patch, only before it is applied to the wound a yellow colored 4x4 is applied to the wound site. It is left on the wound for a week with no changes. Then it was removed and the wound was treated with wet/dry dressings for another week. I have utilized many wound treatments over the years for clients, the most successful being Tegaderm and Dueoderm. I must say this new dressing is a real miracle treatment as Keiths wound was open for 11 months with no prospect of quick healing. The open measurement was 1.5x1. I am so surprised by this result, and so very grateful. In the span of a week after removing the patch, the entire site is closed 100%. This is a huge victory for diabetic/post op patients. Dr. Stewart was using Keith as a test case with this product. I advocate it for anyone needing wound care. We cannot thank all of you enough for your continued prayers and support.
