I have to share this with our friends and loved ones. We are so excited that we have perhaps a slight chance and were going to take it. I spoke with an oncologist at the University of Pittsburgh today (thank you Rocco) and he reviewed the entire file in 2 hours.....He told me more in a 10 minutes consult than anyone ever told us. Long story short is that he found the gene that is the root of Dans cancer which makes him eligible for clinical trials at Johns Hopkins. He also told us that after reviewing the MRI he found evidence that at some point in the past year he had a mini stroke and also that there are small embolisms that could possibly be cancerous and he strongly recommended that while Dan is here he needs to have radiation treatment. The trick is to have the hospital doctor allow this to happen before they discharge him. This is more info than we had this morning so we are just ecstatic. Please pray for the doctor to allow this procedure tomorrow so that we can have the opportunity to participate in a clinical trial.
