I have to vent..... listen people, no matter how cute or friendly your pet is, pure bred or mutt, surrendering it to a shelter should be a last resort. I loathe you people. Luckily l work at a very nice shelter that takes pride in their animals and adoptions, with a very low euthanasia count. Please be aware that the majority of shelters are horrible, and more than likely your surrendered pet will not find a home, and will be put down. Also please do not adopt a puppy and then return it to a shelter when its grown up and youre tired of it. When you surrender your pet you dont see the panic in their eyes when they are pulled away from their family and everything they know, to be put in a strange kennel, in a very hostile environment. Your pet cries for you.... how can you be so heartless! WAKE UP!!!!! A pet should be a family member, not an asset. If it was 1942 would you turn a family member into the concentration camp Auschwitz? What do you think the majority of shelters are? Laws need to change. You cant just surrender your 2 year old toddler when youre tired of it, or decide to move. Also PLEASE be a responsible owner and spay/ neuter your pets. There are enough animals without homes, why create more?
