I have tried to not make a statement in the Michael Brown case in - TopicsExpress

I have tried to not make a statement in the Michael Brown case in respect for the many friends that I have that reach across all boundaries and tonight I break my silence. If I continue to be silent then I am no better than the many people that are rioting in the streets therefore I need to encourage everyone who understands that there is a difference when color is involved that we must stand together and show the power of our color by not financially supporting any business that is not of color on Black Friday! I realize that this hard however it is necessary to get people to understand the power we have to make a change. We cannot allow our young black men to die in the street where 12 shots are fired and it is ok. I am not saying that Mike Brown was an angel but I am saying that after hearing the evidence as presented today I still have doubt: When has anyone ever heard of a black man that has been shot and was running away turn, stop, and run toward more bullets? This is not what we as a people do. I also doubt that it would take any trained officer 12 rounds of fire to stop and apprehend an unarmed man, regardless of size, bullets rule over flesh on any given day. I just lost my son to senseless gun violence, so yes I feel strongly about this and will continue to pray for Mike Browns family. I am not asking that you comment or agree with me but I am saying this is my page and I have the right to express my feelings so please understand that I will not take negative comments lightly as I do not write negative comments on your page when I absolutely do not agree with you. Thanks #ripmikebrown#blacklivesmatter
