I have tried using all indices and statistical tests, simple and advanced, in analysing Nigerian socio-politico-economic problems, yet the graphs keep going off tangent. None fitted any national curve I have seen. I went and enrolled on a course on-line from Imperial college London and after spending £3,000 just to be able to deal with Nigerian issue, I still come to the same off tangent curve. Then I took the course on: "reductive indices and application of regression/multivariate in challenging sample" - I paid £2,000 - this time my online tutors are from Yales! This all purpose equation I learnt for 3months also failed and did not advance my Nigerian case or understanding of her non-compliance! To see if the fault is mine, I applied the equations and teachings I have garnered to any other nation including the "third world" categories, they all worked. So I concluded that problem might mine but unique to Nigeria as a country. I mailed my erudite tutors and supervisors in Yale and Imeperial College to expressed my utter frustrations! The eminent professors believed we need a conference to determine why Nigeria failed to fit into any pattern and why the curves kept going off tangent! I was asked to produce 3000 words brief of the geo-poltical history of Nigeria. They look at it and took sample of calibre of people in Nigeria government and people who held offices past and present. They also took a look at personnel manning Nigerian High Commissions - Canada being one sampled; they look at the ethnic colourations and diatribes being churn out. After, they arranged a teleconference with me. They took me through steps, plotted the graph of Nigeria and actually found out their own curves were far away the mark than mine! They explain that out of share frustration, I was trying too hard to make the curve to fit hence theirs were even worse. Conclusion: "This your country is one like no other! From its coupling, there has been engineering errors that cannot be mitigated" I was told, my jaw wide open! "It is sad to say", they continued..."Simply put, it can best and midly be described as colonially midwifed white elephant project imbued with catalogue of woes...Only God can fix it!" With this depressing conclusion, my professors gave me a wry smile and bade me farewell and good luck. "Sorry doctor, at least you now learn how to fix a nation when this one dies for it surely will after it runs it course!"
