I have two boy kittens. They play quite roughly some times and over the past few days my smaller one has gotten a swollen/irritated eye. It waters sometimes and sometimes its open. It looks like his inner eye is red and at times his third eyelid is tucked over his eye. I soak and wipe away any clear discharge with a warm salt water soaked cloth. No vaccinations yet, theyre barely three months. I dont want to get them vaccinated for anything but feline distemper/respiratory vaccine. Im going to try a saline solution but what should I do? Separating them is heartbreaking but the bigger kitten scratches and kicks at his face and his eye wont get any better. Vets are too expensive for just a visit. I just want to make sure its not too serious. He doesnt rub at it or clean it often.
