I have two scientific theories that I would love to get some funding to conduct research on. The first is that, when we bite into a piece of toast, the crumbs dont just fall directly down. They seem to sort of explode in a more or less circular pattern, AWAY from the point of the bite, displaying some property of motion that has not been discovered yet. The second is that, when we eat pancakes or French toast with maple syrup, it doesnt matter how far up on the fork you hold it, you ARE going to end up with sticky fingers. My theory is that maple syrup seems to have some property of conductivity, related to our skin. Like I said, these are pretty much just hypotheses now, but if I can get a grant I think some really exciting work could be done.
