I have two weirdly different feelings about this -- - TopicsExpress

I have two weirdly different feelings about this -- self-contradicting and coming from different places. A, Along with John, I am sad that someone I liked and respected for so long -- for his socioculturally groundbreaking show, his wholesome humor, his getting a PhD in education at UMass (what A list Hollywood celebrities do this?), the utter heinous tragedy of his sons totally gratituous random murder by a hoodlum, his tell-it-like-it-is social concerns (I call them that, if I may) -- has come to this. And I believe these allegations - so many! citing the same method! --are impossible to dismiss. And, B, as an author of a nonfiction book in which I felt a clear journalistic obligation to tell both happy, positive, yay-yay-women!! truth AND the maybe-not-so-great (but interesting, real-career-life, complexity-revealing) truths about my subjects, I am stunned that the very respected journalist author of the with his cooperation but independent biography of Cosby made no -- NO! -- mention of ANY of these long- and well-documented charges, if even to find a way to talk them away. So I am both the soggy white liberal of a certain age AND the if-I-can-do-it-(and-take-the-lumps)-then-so-can-you... grumbling-self-righteous competitive author.
