I have visited Honduras 12 times doing surgical missions. When we travel we are always escorted by armed guards. One sees people on the streets or on motorbikes with rifles slung over their shoulders. The local doctors with whom Ive worked make $600 a month, yes $600 a month. People do laundry, baths and wash vehicles in the same dirty creek. I am one who understands their desire to leave Honduras. If I could offer shelter, I would. washingtonpost/world/honduran-child-migrants-leave-home-because-of-poverty-and-fear/2014/07/15/9f073040-a56d-488c-9473-1265d1a8c2aa_story.html?wpisrc=nl%5Fhdtop
