I have waited a while to make a post on your wall, Lindsey. I had to let it sink in for a while. The memories come back to me, sometimes at the strangest times, and sometimes in logical places(Sonic)! In the miles long procession of cars and trucks that participated in Lindseys Last Cruze, we rolled down our windows and cranked up the jams. Karen Boes, Victoria and I were drinking in the enormity and sentimentality of the moment. The very first song that came on was Fancy by Iggy Azalea. The word Goose popped out of the lyrics, maybe twenty seconds after wed turned on the radio.The singer was referring to a cup of Grey Goose, but we all looked at each other and freaked! We knew God and You were in cahoots, laughing your butts off! Weve all heard the old adage, Laughter is the best medicine. You know that warm, breathless, high you get after a gut-busting belly laugh? If you ever hung out with Lindsey, you know! She was Dr.Droll. Every time I saw her, that infectious grin made me smile, and that chuckle made me roll on the floor, even if the joke was at my expense. No one was immune to her dry wit, or safe from her sarcastic charm. Goose was elected GHSs Class of 2008 Class Clown, Most Talkative, and Most Outgoing. Well, even though it was a great honor to be nominated for three different awards by her peers, I feel that she deserves a few more sashes to wear. I nominate her for: *Authority on Amusement *Chairman of Chuckle *Commander of Comedy *Despiser of Dull *Defiant Defender of the Sonic Cup *Doctor of Droll *Empress of Enjoyment *Governor of Glee *Headmistress of Hilarity and Hijinks *Hostess of Humor *Instigator of Irony *Jester of Jocularity *Lady Laughter *Mistress of Merriment *Magistrate of Mockery *Matriarch of Mirth *Ringleader of the Ribald *Ruler of Ridicule *Sovereign of Sarcasm *Sultan of Smart Ass *Superintendent of Satire *Warden of Wisecracks *Wizard of Witticism I know that if we took a vote, it would surely be unanimous! Linds- You were, and are, so much more than a funny girl. There was a deeply sensitive, fiercely loving side to you that you didnt let everyone see, but everyone who knew you well was aware of the soft, fuzzy side hiding underneath the prickly one. We are grateful for the happy times we shared with you, and very thankful for the treasured memories that remain with us. Alix shared a story with me one time, and it was vintage Goose. In the Fall of 2007, the beginning of your senior year, driving through G-Town you exclaimed with great confidence, We own this town! You sure did! Your parents, family and friends will always remember your lovely face with your perpetual grin, and we imagine you chuckling all the way to heaven. We love you Lindsey, and we will truly miss you, until we meet again. Oh, and by the way,Goose….Jesus and God own Heaven, but Im sure they had an administrative position waiting for you.
