I have waited to make sure of my feelings before I posted this. It started last Saturday and continued since then and ended a couple hours ago. Christmas means so much more than just buying some stuff and making some people smile because they got what they really WANTED! Last Saturday we had an adopt-a-family event and with the help of the Juggernauts and Queens motorcycle group (and I believe another group I dont have the name for), our high school and middle school boys basketball teams were able to bless 3 families with things they really NEEDED! The satisfaction of not only that, but seeing how are boys on the basketball teams responded to the call with buying gifts, wrapping gifts (some much better than others), and interacting with the families and one another was wonderful. Then right when it was over, Jessica Ward dropped off MORE stuff for the families. We took that to one family last night and the entire experience was amazing! Before that one of the families needed a refrigerator, and John Bean was able to bless them with that! I have been full ALL WEEK because I have seen needs met! So today my own family got some things they wanted and needed, but I got more joy in seeing those who really needed help actually get it and get some of their wants as well! It is better to give than to receive is not just a saying, unless u are just selfish to another level! And now I know that for myself. I thank God for allowing my wife and I to partner with some wonderful people like Paul, Meat, Lydell, Ann, Greg, Phil, Bobbi, Katrina, Trice, Marcus, Jeff, Chris, my brother Coach Q, John Zell, Olive Garden (provided lunch), and our parents and players to impact our community! In my father/in-law Frank and my grandson Zanders voice, Im talkin bout me! I hope I didnt leave anyone out. If so, Ill edit this because I want u to know I appreciate u! Love!
