I have wanted JPaul to collaborate with me with my long time dream of being one of the many Victoriahanons who will transform the land of my birth into a major tourist destination in the country. With the dwindling economic resource on sugar, we need to redirect our focus to what is pratical and lucrative economic activity that will ensure a lifetime financial, educational and social lifeline for our kasimanwas. There is nothing political in this dream, for if I ever wanted to be in public service, I could have done it when I was younger. NO, politics is not my cup of tea, but development and education are. Symbolically, Dec. 1, 2014 is the day two heads brained stormed for the dream of developing a tourism enclave in Victorias, specifically known as the DAAN BANWA DEVELOPMENT, the center of which development is the CamSur like wakeboard facility proximate to the Victorias Sports Center, hopefully with the participation of the landowners surrounding it up to the shoreline and connected to the Port in Daan Banwa, JPaull and I COINCIDENTALLY (amazingly true, one that both of us excl;aimed yesterday: would you believe we have the same dream about the same area?!). Hotel or cottage accommodation, specialty stores, a shoreline promenade or walk will be constructed along the shoreline, elevated in order to appreciate the beauty of the sunset. The area, God willing, from where the land traverses through Taytay Baho towards Daan Banwa proper will have perchance the most beautiful bridge to be built, to eventually connect the area from the sports Center to Daan Banwa and finally end at the Daan Banwa Port that we HOPE can be converted into a major port for passengers and cargo, with VMC of course to concur. We tap the funding capability of tourism investors with the organization of willing, dedicated and with financial resources Victoriahanons to be part of this gigantic development that will start to roll out with the organization of a $10M (approx. Php 500M) initial authorized capital stock of the proposed VICTORIAS TOURISM DEVELOPMENT CORP. (VTDC) - tentative name.. Arch. JPaul will contribute his architectural firms services in the planning, designing of the entire project plus his financial contribution to the capital stock of the development corporation. He will bring also into the project noted and credible businessmen, even his friends and my own friends in Congress in their respective capacities as support from public governance. He will definitely chair this endeavor, as I believe that a man should be at the helm of anything worthy. Our beloved government officials in Victorias will be fully represented in this project as we cannot deliver it in 5 years time without their support and cooperation. A BIG DREAM FOR OUR HOME CITY, A BIG DREAM FOR NEGROS OCCIDENTAL. For NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE WITH GOD IF IT IS IN ACCORDANCE WITH HIS WILL. Planning, design and project study now in the initial stages. Both JPaul and I have this idea: We put up a cooperative of all willing Victoriahanons to participate as stockholder in the development entity, the VTDC. Any suggestions mga kasimanwa?
