I have written a long, hell-fire-and-brimstone poem called Rewriting the Declaration of Independence, inspired by the Womans Suffrage Memorial on Market Square. Ill be reading it tomorrow (Saturday, the 18th) at a Market Square rally for womens rights. The event begins at 4:00 and goes on into the night. I read at 8:00 after Itchy and the Hater Tots and before Jay Clark and The Tennessee Tree Beavers. Marilyn Kallet reads at 7:00. Apparently Ill share some stage time with Gloria Johnson, our representative in Nashville, who happens to be a terrific speaker. This will be fun, folks, until I get arrested.
