I have zero shame that Frozen is one of my favorite movies. (Ashley and I have also watched it a bazillion times.) From a feminist perspective, it is a breath of fresh air from your typical Disney film. It could use some work, but its got some great points. The clip below essentially pokes fun at how most Disney princess flicks are so out of the realm of reality and completely absurd. Its pretty funny! But my favorite aspect of this movie is there is no knight-in-shining armor rescuing the princess at the end. Its women looking out for each other, that sends a powerful message to little girls, I think. I also make sure to remind Ashley how capable she is. Our society tries so hard to teach little girls otherwise, its important to educate them.
