I havent been posting every night and some of you have probably wondered about us. Weve reached a whole new level of crazy now that Cohen is at home. I cant imagine what it will be like once Dawson joins us. Its still so good being home with two of my three kiddos. Maddie is being a great big sister. Tonight, she changed her first (and second) diaper. She helps feed Cohen and she helps bathe him. What would we do without her? We take Cohen to Macon tomorrow for another eye exam. Theyll look to be sure that he still hasnt developed retinopathy while his vessels in his eyes are completing their growth. We had hoped Dawson would be back in Macon by now but his doctors are being cautious and double checking everything before they send him back. Hell have another bronchoscopy tomorrow to be sure that the inflammation is better and that theyve done all they need to do for him. When they determine that all he needs is time, growth, and maturity, theyll give their blessing for him to travel south to Macon. His primary nurse, Lisa, called yesterday to check on him. She misses him and is as ready for him to return to Macon as we are. What a blessing to have nurses that care so much for our babies! Dawson had a pretty significant weight loss when he was extubated two weeks ago, in combination with some tummy troubles, but were happy to report that he has gained that weight back and is now at 5 lb 1.5 oz. Keep praying that we can get Dawson home with his brother soon. I miss him like crazy, but I know that hes getting everything he needs in Atlanta while we get Cohen settled here in Hahira, and tend to all his follow-up appointments now that hes been discharged.
