I havent posted an update in a while. Over Thanksgiving Rick had a DVT (blood clot) from his knee to his thigh and also clots in both of his lungs. Being put on blood thinners changed up the process of when his next treatment would begin. We arrived back to Little Rock on December 1, went through 2 days of some excruciating and some not so excruciating test. After meeting with the oncologist we decided Rick needed to have 2 more vertebra repaired because they were broken and also a clot filter installed. So That afternoon we went into surgery for these things to be done. Postponing chemo until Dec 14 and stem cell transplant on Dec 15. He did so well with this round. He made it through his counts all dropping to zero with only getting weak, no sickness, no burning of the digestive track. We are so grateful and give God all the glory for getting through that. Thank you to all of you who have been lifting Rick up in prayer. Those prayers were answered. Thank you Jesus. As the weeks have progressed Rick has gotten weaker and become sick. He has pneumonia, has another stomach infection, and has a terrible cold. He has lost his appetite and isnt drinking much at all. But we have no FEAR. We know who is on our side and guides our path. Right now we are in a storm, but I give God the glory. We have learned so much on this journey of ups and downs. We have to completely trust God and know his plan is perfect. He has held us in his hand and never left our side. He has caught every tear and whispered at times and spoke loudly to us at others that Im with you. Isaiah 43:2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. Thank you Jesus.
