I havent posted anything on FB about Stuart Scott all day...just been watching vids and reading stories throughout the day. Its hard to put into words why his death resonated with me...when your life essentially revolves around sports growing up, people like Stuart Scott, Rich Eisen, Kenny Mayne, SVP, etc. are your role models. You start your day by catching the early SportsCenter with them speaking to you...you lay your head down listening to the late SportsCenter as a nightcap. These guys were the reason I chose my college major (broadcast communication)...and while life roads change all the time, I wouldnt be where Im at today without that choice. By all accounts, Stuart Scott was a great friend, co-worker, anchor, and most importantly--father. He seemed to love his daughters more than life itself. Its incredibly rare in this day and age that someone of Stuart Scotts stature never has anything negative spoken or written about him as a man...but thats a testament to what a great guy he was. You can hate his on-air style that revolutionized sports reporting, but he was a great human being. The world could use more people like him. Nothing will ever touch Jim Valvanos speech, but his line about beating cancer by how you live, why you live, and by the manner in which you live is a quote that will withstand the test of time. RIP, Mr. Scott. This needs no words...one of the best commercials of all-time: https://youtube/watch?v=q0rSbR80GQk
