I havent written anything in a while, but have been meaning to rewrite this poem for some time. Let me know what you think. Thanks~ Pulchritudo Enim Et Bestia (Beauty and the Beast) In the darkness to the far east, Void of most life to say the very least, I live in a kingdom isolated, and deceased, And this is why the people have come to call me, the Beast. But they don’t know my tale, It is one that is so very frail, One that will inspire a silent wail, Of how I was always doomed to fail. On the night I was cursed, I acted my very worst, And was told as to how to have this reversed. You see, I was turned into a hideous creature, Of one that matched my moral feature. In this form I was to love and be loved, Which is the problem and the solution thereof. So why can’t my servants see, And, just let me be, For I fear we will all be cursed for eternity, Because no one will ever love this form of me. I was given a rose, A time limit until the last pedal goes, And I watch it slowly as it comes to a close. The sadness grows inside my heart, Covered over madness as I reminiscence about the start, And each wilted pedal just, tears me apart. I live inside my own prison cell, my own personal miserable hell; Further I sink into madness’s shell, as my anger continues to swell.
