I haven’t been feeling great this week. Not physically sick—just sad and tired. I usually don’t write about feeling this way because I don’t want people to start telling me what I should do or believe to feel better. I know I will feel better next week—I always do. Anyway, this morning I was sitting in my chair, staring off into space, planning for some random event that will probably never occur. Juliet crawled up into my lap and arranged herself so that she was facing me. She laid her hand on my neck and said, “You’re a good, good job, Mama. You’re a good, sweet job.” My heart melted, and I started to tell her that she was a good, sweet job, too, when all of a sudden she sneezed and snot spewed from her runny nose all over my face. And then, in a perfect imitation of her sister’s voice, Juliet said, “What. The. Butt.” [Thanks, Morgan.]
