I haven’t really put this out there, but I was let go from my job last Tuesday afternoon. Between working in my community college computer lab roughly the last 11 years (with Jewell Giddings Mobley, one of the best coworkers one could EVER have the pleasure and honor of working with), and my 5 years as a student there in the early 90’s (DEFINITELY a different place from now), I spent over 15 years on that campus. Yes, things have been up and down there recently, but the campus and the people I’ve come to know have been amazing overall. I’m thankful to have gotten to help all of the students I have ever helped with their studies and if I ever helped calm their stress levels with a laugh over something silly or goofy that I ever did. And all of the former students I came to know, I continue to be proud of their endeavors after graduating or leaving. My state of mind is alright and I am at peace with most of the situation. This is an opportunity for positive new goals and endeavors on my side, and whether that’s stuffing envelopes from home or some bold new creative projects involving my art, writing, performing or what have you, I’ll find a way to make it alright. Honestly, I will… although, I’d really rather not stuff envelopes, lol. Thank you for the support I HAVE gotten from the folks who know or have found out before this posting. It’s truly humbling. I hope the best for my former coworkers and DEFINITELY for all the students working hard to reach their goals! Kudos, and kudos again!
