I hd a very scary and unpleasant run in with WCC employee cycling home through Newtown this afternoon. I was passing the hospital in my mountain bike riding in the left lane. I had the green light and the right of way from the north turning left into Mein Street. A grey WCC (branded absolutely positively etc) 4wd vehicle like a RAV or similar driven by a dark skinned asian guy possibly an indian with a beard turning into Mein Street from the south cut me off by screaming through the intersection at speed to beat me across line of traffic. I had to take evasive action and really hit the brakes to avoid being run down. Unfortunately for him I had my helmet cam on and turned it on and managed to catch most of the near miss. I yelled at him to stop but he was intent on getting away and he continued up Mein Street speeding away. On getting home I reviewed the video and although I followed him with the video on he was accelerating away and I could not make out the rego as I had lost too much speed braking, I guess there may be methods by which this could be blown up though. I called the WCC and fully described the incident and described the driver. To their credit they did not try and fib me off and took my complaint seriously and will investigate. It is a nasty feeling when you are turning left with the right of way and some wanker trues to kill you.....
