I hear a lot of urban young people complain about not hearing the issues - It may be true that most Malawian Parties focus mostly on the rural population and very little on the urban population. However, I have learned that the people in the rural area are not as unwise as most think. Most understand the basics of a BOMA. Kamuzu taught us well. The issue is that the campaign period in Malawi is taken lightly by some. They think of it as an opportunity to get some social relief and also an opportunity to enjoy much needed free-entertainment. Rural Malawi knows the issues better than Urban Malawi and they follow, while they also take advantage of gullible Politicians lol. So rather than complain about not knowing the issues...simply make your issues known. Politicians should accumulate their intelligence from the views of the people. I know young urban people who are busy sending in their ideas to Politicians. You may think your ideas wont count, but its better for your voice to be heard. Attend rallies...but oh no you are too clean to be out there in the dust listening to some Politician...right? Then you wonder why your voice is not heard? We cannot discuss Malawis issues thoroughly online. Get out there...form groups...have meetings...support candidates that are likely to stand up for your issues. Those that know the good to do, but do nothing are worse than those that do bad. Anyway here is a website that may help malawicongressparty - manifesto coming soon, but all the previous ones are uploaded on there. Read the old ones too. #WHATSYOURISSUE!? Joseph Chikondi Gibson
