I hear my Liberty minded friends loving the idea of highway 70 becoming a toll highway and it all sounds good EXCEPT for one thing. Will we get a tax break then? Or, will MODOT find another way to spend money allocated towards the highways? Perhaps we need some more electronic signs that MODOT seems to think is so important. I need MODOT to tell me to put my seat belt on. I need MODOT to tell me that its raining. I could go on and on. Maybe we need highway mile markers every 10 feet instead of every 528 feet? How about those changeable speed signs they installed on highway 270 to lower the speed limit when we are already slowing down to a crawl. Sorry, I am not on that train. I am sick of hearing MODOT complaining about money when they seem to waste so much.
