I hear of the Federal Governments plan to establish grazing - TopicsExpress

I hear of the Federal Governments plan to establish grazing reserves across the nation. All i can say is such reserve should not get close to my village. What errant nonsense. You cannot sponsor crises to achieve your age-long agenda to occupy the Middle-Belt region-the hub of lush green vegetation. If anyone ever thought the Fulani-Farmers crises is about Islamisation, you need to think again. Cheap Cattle rearing has been an age-long model to achieve maximum profits for the Fulani herdsmen or nomads or whatever they represent, who are field workers to the elitist Fulanis living in our cities. Ever wondered why they are so rich? Why their children live extravagant lives? Those countless number of Cattles parading our city highways with impunity aren’t owned by those nomads. The elite Fulani, lying down in a mansion in Kano, Sokoto, Abuja, Kaduna, Maiduguri, Yola, and the host of others own them. Yet our goats are stolen (arrested) by the various Urban Development (Planning) Boards across the nation when they stray outside their confines within a minute. The greedy Tiv Chiefs began to borrow a leaf from these Fulani elites in order to amass wealth. Quite a number of Cattles in Benue are owned by notable Tiv sons, led by her paramount ruler-Tor Tiv. I say this emphatically with no iota of remorse. Tragic enough, these men have failed to realize that “when you wash your dirty linens in public, rats will trace you to your destination”. For long, the Tiv race has never been found wanting in a war of any sort. I do not intent to go down memory lane, but our very existence as a nation is an evident pointer to our heroic traits. That we hold sway in the Benue Valley today is no mean feat. Regrettably, those characters are fading away. Two close relations of mine whom the community has vexed with powers to defend her territory have been reportedly slaughtered in on the Benue-Nassarawa boundary where they had gone to repel advancing Fulani fighters. These guys wouldn’t have died if their elites have not compromised; thereby depriving them of the requisite “Chia”(Justice) needed to conquer enemies in war. The Tivs believe in “Chia” to conquer or fend external aggressions. A situation where our youths are still killing Cows here and there is worrisome. Worse still, an air of conspiracy beclouds the entire atmosphere. Some youths are accused of been Judases. Now, I ask, where is the money for the sophisticated amour wielded by these rascals? Their elites continue to pay lip service to wanton destruction of lives and properties. Often times you hear them softly condemn these heinous atrocities. But whether they like it or not, no Fulani man can take my land in the name of grazing reserve after ruthlessly killing her inhabitants. We say No!
