I hear so many say, why not just have shot the suspect in the leg? Heres my reasoning in that: Shooting a person in the leg, esp... some one that size, will more then likely just piss them off. Also, if the officer was attacked as he and other witnesses have reported, then officer was in the right to fear for his life, and take all precautions he felt deemed to save his life. If some one attacked me and caused me to fear for my very own life. I wouldnt care if they were turning a flip. I would shoot them dead, as many times as I felt secure in pulling the trigger. When you are ever put in a situation to actually have to fend for your life, then you get to do what you do, and tell your story. I have my own story, because I have came face to face with life and death, when I was robbed at a store and beat in the head, and to be honest, if I did have a gun at the point, I would have Unloaded every bullet into the man who tried to kill me, because I had a wife and children that depended on me. So dont talk until you have walked that road.
