I hear that the desert is matching on and destroying our land at the northern borders at the approximate rate of 320,000 to 350,000 hectares annually. This is a sad news. What our northern brothers should do is to work with the Federal Government to fine tune interventions to finally stop this menace. This is a more worthwhile venture than to look the other way while the insurgency is makimg the nation spend our scarce resources on the necessary counter insurgency. We all need to make the members of BH know that it is the North that is moving several years backwards developmentally with the continuation of this war. The insurgency is affect our economic and social growth. Some of which will take several years before we can even recover. This desert encroachment can be stopped. After all, Israel is having a thriving nation economically and agriculturally even though most of their nation is literally desert. Technology can come to the rescue but technology costs money.
