I heard a discussion on NPR the other day regarding the Nigerian Mall conflict. Many called in to comment that "no one is safe, etc." One of the commentators expressed that, when a huge disparity in wealth and wealth are prevalent (i.e. no middle class), violence is bound to occur. I sense a very prescient understanding in regard to the woman who was killed in DC today. As a mentor of mine once said, "Poverty is a lack of choice."
