I heard a thought provoking discussion today. Ill try to hit the highlights from my notes: One dangerous pitfall of self discovery: Elite Judgement. Based upon the Biblical verse that many are familiar with they know not what they do, this verse speaks to humble service to those not yet living enlightened in truth, (whatever that is, in this case biblical truths). Therefore, they are prayed for, and forgiven, with the long term goal of bringing them into the fold so to speak. We are only accountable for what we know. Innocent until proven guilty in other words. This concept describes forgiveness, and non judgmental labeling. When people find themselves in a self discovered great place suddenly through a miracle, access to a path of enlightened thinking, all things forward, lovely and strong and positive in purpose to keep on the straight and narrow (a focused new path), along with that comes the humble commission of responsibility to the rest of man kind. Never should it move a person toward exclusivity at the cost of anyone else who is not there yet or never may be in fact. Exercising thankfulness and a non-judgmental attitude is the best example, by allowing those others not yet there (or maybe never will be or somewhere in the middle), the freedom and forgiveness to choose to join an enlightened path, or not. Or maybe not yet. Neither of which should we make decisions about them (judgement) during their process of discovery. That describes the term elite. The idea is to share it and live it . As Mother Teresa and St.Francis of Assisi practiced love the unlovely. In our fervor of new found happiness, its quite easy to slip into that state of exclusivity. It is especially dangerous to label and judge when somewhere else is in the process of discovery. That is a time in which a person most needs the support and acceptance of they know not what they do to reach that point by being in the midst of forgiving non judgmental mentorship/example. A person in process can be dangerously viewed as being hypocritical when trying on a different heart and soul. Self discovery can be quite painful for some. Many people do what is referred to as back slide and go back to our old ways. We never know the entire depth and truth of another persons story, nor is it our place to judge them by our own standards. The newly enlightened person would actually be the hypocrite by judging and labeling. Living enlightened, blessed, positive, comes usually through energy of a main source, often through people who are in fact living examples. It is a gift, and to forever be thankful for. The job from then on, is to be just that: an example minus judgement for those not yet there or suffering the same things perhaps we suffered from previously. Always be reminded of from whence you came to avoid feeling elite and therefore judgmental. Judgmental attitudes can in fact block a person from enlightenment because THEY actually see the hypocrisy in the newly enlightened person! For those living enlightened, you are under the radar and being watched carefully for violating the very concept to which you base your new self on. The commissioned job is not to be taken lightly if in fact the light is to be passed on.
