I heard an amazing, true story recently from the Southern Raised Band (southernraisedband) while in Bird City, Kansas last Saturday. In 1829, a man named George Wilson was convicted of murder and sentenced to hang. He went to prison, awaiting his execution. While there, many interceded on his behalf, and he was pardoned by President Jackson. Wilson rejected the pardon saying, No, I am going to hang. Not knowing how to proceed, the debate went all the way to the Supreme Court, where it was decided, A pardon is simply a piece of paper, the value of which depends upon the acceptance of the person implicated. How true for each of us: convicted, guilty of sin, and deserving of death. Jesus has already paid the ultimate price for our pardon. Many have prayerfully interceded on your behalf, no doubt. Wilson chose death. We each have a chance to choose life, if we personally accept Jesus forgiveness of our sins from the blood He willingly shed on the cross for you. If you do not accept this perfect pardon and make it personally yours, it will do you no good: eternal regrets. Accept Jesus free and priceless gift to you...today: KNOW GOD no regrets. Thank you, Jesus, for saving me.
