I heard of a man who said to a friend of mine, that he was not sure whether he believed in the man, Jesus Christ, or not? He went on to say, “But I have read His teachings though and I believe that what He taught is a good way to live.” The teachings of Jesus Christ become even greater when one encourages a relationship with Jesus Christ. Some are not sure there is going to be a resurrection. Others are not sure about salvation. Still others deny even the authenticity of the Bible and the existence of Jesus Christ. I will say that it all became real to me after I met the Lord and He led me to His truths. One cannot know the truth without knowing the Lord. He is the Author of truth. Prov.14 [12] There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. Judg.21 [25] In those days there was no king in Israel: every man did that which was right in his own eyes. We can read how man chose a king and how the Lord chose a king. We all need a king to lead us, but we have options? We can choose the king men would pick or we can choose the king the Creator would reveal to us. 2Pet.3 [16] As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. Prov.21 [2] Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts. When we choose we need to go beyond the surface appearance. I think we have all learned not to judge a book or a person by their cover. The Creator looks on the heart. So, I ask today, “have you read the teachings of Jesus Christ?” If you have I would ask if you found anything errant about what He taught? I am not asking you to respond from the surface appearance, but what is your heart saying to you? I would share with everyone today, that even if the teachings of Jesus Christ were not true (I, of course, believe they are true) I could not live a better life than by those teachings, even if there is no resurrection (and I believe there is). I believe that God honors a sincere heart. Words don’t mean a lot if there is no heart behind them. A professional singer sings a gospel song and never misses a beat. A believer sings the same song with an anointing because they know the Author. If you have not been introduced to Jesus Christ yet, let me be the first to invite you to His house. In His house are many mansions. There is one that can be constructed for you and the path of life leading to it is the Way. The Lord gave His life for you, so that you would not have to die but have life abundantly in this world and the world to come. I can say with all assurance and from my own personal experience, that you will never regret living for the Lord by allowing Him to be the King in your life.
