I heard the man at the fuel station whistling just a yard away. - TopicsExpress

I heard the man at the fuel station whistling just a yard away. The sun was scorching, I was sweating and the electricity had just gone out, so we queued for quite a longer time than the usual, under the sun. Then the wind began to blow, and suddenly it didnt feel so terrible anymore. I had my gallon in the boot, which I brought to aswell fill for the Generator back home. It was a sunday but it sure didnt feel like a sunday to me. Didnt God rest on a sunday during the creation of the world? Or was it on a saturday? Whichever one, sunday just feels like the best time to take a nap. Im still at the fuel station whilst a lot of thoughts run through my mind, thoughts like : Why cant chickens fly, or why does it have to be so hot in Abuja. Im staring out my window and the cream on my hair has began to melt down to my face, my face looks like ground nut oil, and if the sun came any closer Id be toast. I console myself with the gist I had with my 4year old sister this morning. She told me she liked Nnanna, she said shed want to be his wife. I tell her not to be so desperate, I tell her shes only 4years old, and that she has enough time to find a suitor. The light is back at the fuel station. I drop my phone and hustle for fuel.
