I heard this mans story a few days ago from a friend that knows him and I cant even imagine what he is feeling inside. His words are incredibly touching and are such an important reminder to be so grateful for every moment! Daves Message: Today is October 18, 2013, and I am on my way to Langara College, to attend a ceremony for my daughter. Sadly, this is not a graduation or an award ceremony as she neared the end of her nursing degree program. This is a memorial ceremony, as she died three days ago of a brain aneurysm. Today is also my sons birthday. He would be 28, though he died of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma nearly 7 years ago. Countless people have reached out and offered support, for which I will be forever thankful. So many of you have said, quite rightly in my opinion, sometimes there are just no words. Yet so many want to know what they can do. Today offers all of us countless possibilities to do small things to honor Daniel, Jessica, and all who have died too soon. Please look for opportunities today to do something simple. In your dealings with others, be prepared to expect a little less, and give a little more. Listen a little more closely, and a little longer, to those around you. If you dont normally throw coins to people who are homeless or begging on the street, maybe today is the time to make an exception. If you see someone who looks stressed out in traffic or in the checkout at the grocery store, let them go first, even if you have the right of way. Let someone know that you appreciate them. The possibilities are endless. Above all, hug someone today, especially your kids. Please repost this if it resonates for you, and remember, it doesnt have to stop at the end of the day. Keep it up all weekend, all of next week, all month, all year.... these are some of the easiest and most powerful ways you can all help. Thank- you all!
