I heard this song yesterday on Elvis Radio = every time I hear it out of the blue, the first notes, even before I realize what song it is the feeling of an old friend and happiness comes over me and with the same strength it is also like first time new. I am also surprised that I had let it slip from my thoughts since I last heard it. This song brings so much hope and goodwill with it - the message and the music - something the world needs right now - it has also become a classic legend in the song family - other artist might have sang it but like no other song I believe this will never be performed better than Elvis did it and never be owned by anyone else - others can sing Hound Dog, Blue Suede Shoes and Burning Love, they can add enough of themselves to claim it as one of theirs = the influence of Elvis can still be seen and the song as an anthem to him but you can feel that in talking about it later you could easily say - liked that groups song Suspicious Minds and think it was my favorite they sang tonight -- If I Can Dream is at such an ultimate state from the first time the world experienced it that no one else has a chance to add or take away from it. A lot of Elvis Tribute Artist include this song in their sets from time to time, some do it every time they are on stage - anyone can sing the words and put in all the moves they saw Elvis do but I have been blessed to see some and even perform with a few, of the ones that truly can perform it with the feeling and life it was created with. When I first heard it being played I knew then I was going to post a version of it on my page soon as possible - you always want to introduce a good friend to others so they can enjoy and get to know them too and that is what this song is, a forever friend -- when I went looking to choose a video I came across this one first - one of the last times I performed it and decided it would be the one - each time is special for its own reasons and this one had a few - Colin always puts his all into every song he does - his controlled power in this song allowed me to put my all into it also - well as much as you can standing on an astro turf narrow stage in heels and trying not to knock either of us off of it (mental note: maybe safer to not position both persons more active arm side by side ;} ! ) - Ok I got so into it I did almost knock myself off - lol - for some reason it would not play right last night and I didnt want to post it if it wasnt going to play all the way thru - so maybe the reason was some one really needed to see it tonight -Hope so! - I know this is long but sometimes a gal has just got to express herself.
