I heard this story this morning, and it made me stop for a moment and, like all the best stories, it made me think. I made me think about the firemen, about Greentown, and most of all, it made me think of The Pandemonium Shadow Show and about how they all have become part of the imaginary landscape that fills my head, horrors and wonders in equal measure. I will pass these on to my son, and hopeful he will pass them on, but I want him to have more stories to pass on to the future. I want Zane to have my stories, my way of seeing the world, that way he can learn that he can tell stories, too. Sorry for gushing. I think about this stuff a lot, but i suppose that is a symptom of passion, of being infected with the disease that makes you want to create, to envision a better world for your children. The disease called imagination, which makes you look at the gray world around you and makes you angry that we arent allowed anything better by those in charge. So yeah. Ray Bradbury is awesome.
